Who's Watching: Artist Profile

I saw @matthew_cramer_art at a local gallery and was so inspired! Within his work is this incredible introspection and reimagining of the industry/nature/patterns of life. He was kind enough to allow me to visit his studio, grab a few stills and talk process and inspiration.

"These paintings and drawings are meditations on the footprint humans leave on the environment through technologies and industry. I reimagine the urban landscape as a constructed, yet natural entity, using my own photography and satellite images for reference. I want to subvert traditional landscape imagery by exploring the invasive nature of our species." - Matthew Cramer

Behind The Scenes Note: Many of his pieces include a likeness of some sort to satellites, security cameras and recording devices. So, for one of his shots, I made our own "lo-fi surveillance camera" with an iPad and a door scope.
