We’re a husband and wife team who’ve been working together for 29 years—yep, in both business and marriage. That means we’ve mastered the art of collaboration, creative problem-solving, when to lean in, when to step back, and when to bring coffee..
Our shared passion is visual storytelling—through both motion and stills. Together, we capture the beauty of life as it unfolds: sometimes scripted, often spontaneous, always honest. Our work runs the emotional gamut—joyful, reflective, occasionally bittersweet—with a subtle thread of humor and a consistently cinematic edge.
What sets us apart? We can do it all—concept, pre-production, the actual shoot, and a polished, editorial-quality final product. With complementary skill sets in both filmmaking and print, we offer our clients the flexibility of a singular, cohesive vision—delivered through film, stills, or a carefully curated combination of both. With a background in events and fundraising for nonprofits, Jen understands the power of a good story, the importance of a well-kept (but flexible) timeline, and how to make an impact on a streamlined budget.
Specializing for years in portrait and entertainment photography, and now focusing on brand photography - shining a light on nonprofits and creative entrepreneurs - she brings a cinematic style to her imagery that comes alive with a detailed back story.
Her graphic design & PR experience provides a blueprint for all of her projects - to shoot and design with a target-audience and communications vehicle in mind. Whether establishing an identity or promotion for a company, model or event, Jen is excited about seeing the process from concept to completion as part of a creative team.

DIRECTOR & EDITOR
RIC

RICARDO SERENA (or RIC thanks to his Grandmother’s insistence that 3 letter-names are good luck) is an award-winning Director and Editor. He most recently won his second Emmy Award for Outstanding Promotional Announcement, adding to a long list of recognition for his work in television including Clios and Promax Awards. In addition to commercial and promo work, Ric’s newest short film RADIO SILENCE was a finalist at the 2023 ABFF HBO Short Film Award Showcase and has been recognized with a Jury Award, Audience Award, and Best Director Award in the 2023/24 festival circuit. His 2018 documentary MY INDIANA MUSE garnered five “Best Documentary” awards with over 20 festival screenings.
Prior to directing full-time, Ric was an editor of long form programming. He pivoted to short form editing with a move to the CBS Marketing Department before setting off to start SERENA CREATIVE in 2007 with his lifelong partner & photographer, Jen Serena. Though he currently focuses his energy on directing & writing, his editorial instincts will forever be an asset.
He has also earned two Vimeo Staff picks, dabbles in animation, and is in development for his first feature-length comedy screenplay which he intends to direct.
