Virgina Credit Union: CASE STUDY
Shooting alongside a motion team always changes the game—in the best way, if you’re prepared for it.
On this series for Virginia Credit Union, we captured a full photo gallery while working in tandem with a motion crew. That meant one thing above all: stay flexible and move fast.
Instead of building from scratch, we worked off the lighting already in place—adapting quickly to their setups to stay on schedule and avoid slowing down production. Constant communication with the motion team and AD was key. Everyone aligned, everyone moving toward the same goal.
We also approached it as a true unit shoot—making sure to capture overage whenever possible, knowing that timing can shift and photo slots can disappear quickly. Huge gratitude to the DP, @derekbauerdp for allowing me to be side-by-side with his rig (one close quarters setup included both of inside the bathtub shooting out.)
My team was built for that kind of environment: nimble, efficient, and self-sufficient. (One example: we brought our own power so we could move fast without relying on, or disrupting, the main grid.)That’s really the difference in these scenarios—being able to integrate seamlessly, keep pace, and walk away with a strong, on-brand, beautiful set of images.
BIG THANKS to Elevation Advertising, Jared Mechaber, Michael Pool and Braden Moran for the support!
